Albersloh, 5. Juli 2026 \u2013 Im SozialZentrum Fels Albersloh fand am Sonntag, dem 5. Juli 2026, ein Vortrag zum Thema \u201eKlima und Krieg am Beispiel Syrien\u201c statt. Die Veranstaltung wurde gemeinsam vom SozialZentrum Fels Albersloh und der Demokratie und Menschenw\u00fcrde F\u00f6rderung gUG organisiert und von Interessierten aus der Region besucht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Referentin war die syrische Umweltexpertin Ruwaida Al-Nahar, Ingenieurin mit einem Masterabschluss im Umweltmanagement sowie einem Master in Betriebswirtschaftslehre. Al-Nahar war mehr als zwanzig Jahre im Umweltbereich t\u00e4tig und leitete unter anderem die Abteilung f\u00fcr Umweltsicherheit im syrischen Ministerium f\u00fcr Kommunalverwaltung und Umwelt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In ihrem Vortrag erl\u00e4uterte sie die Zusammenh\u00e4nge zwischen Klimawandel und bewaffneten Konflikten weltweit. Dabei ging sie auf die Auswirkungen von Kriegen auf Umwelt und nat\u00fcrliche Ressourcen ein, darunter steigende CO\u2082-Emissionen, die Zerst\u00f6rung von \u00d6kosystemen sowie l\u00e4ngere D\u00fcrre- und \u00dcberschwemmungsperioden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt lag auf dem seit 2011 andauernden Krieg in Syrien und dessen langfristigen Folgen f\u00fcr Umwelt und Klima. Im Anschluss an den Vortrag fand ein Austausch mit den Teilnehmenden statt, bei dem verschiedene Fragen und Perspektiven zum Thema diskutiert wurden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lecture on Climate and War in Syria Draws Interested Participants from the Region<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Albersloh, 5 July 2026 \u2013 A lecture entitled \u201cClimate and War: The Case of Syria\u201d was held on Sunday, 5 July, at the SozialZentrum Fels Albersloh. The event was jointly organized by SozialZentrum Fels Albersloh and Demokratie und Menschenw\u00fcrde F\u00f6rderung gUG and was attended by people from the region with an interest in environmental and humanitarian issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lecture was delivered by Ruwaida Al-Nahar, an engineer holding a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and an MBA. She previously served as Head of the Environmental Safety Department at Syria’s Ministry of Local Administration and Environment and has more than twenty years of professional experience in the environmental sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During her presentation, Al-Nahar explored the relationship between climate change and armed conflicts around the world. She discussed the environmental consequences of wars, including increased CO\u2082 emissions, damage to natural resources and ecosystems, and the growing frequency of droughts and floods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lecture focused in particular on the ongoing conflict in Syria since 2011 and its long-term impact on the environment and climate. It concluded with an open discussion, allowing participants to exchange views and ask questions about the environmental challenges facing conflict-affected regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
